April Action - Mission Statement
The Office of University Ministry, in partnership with OSLCA, seeks to design a quality, university-wide community service program open to all faculty, staff, and students. When possible, the April Action event focuses upon a serious social problem existing in our community, with the hope of raising participants' consciousness regarding the issue.
The Office of University Ministry seeks to make the program as "hands-on" as possible, giving volunteers direct contact, when possible, with the individuals they serve.
Striving to make the program an educational event, the Office of University Ministry incorporates a briefing to help prepare volunteers for the experience as well as a post-reflection, giving volunteers an opportunity to reflect upon their experience and learn from it.
